I was wondering if you guys have any good advice for getting started as a Cisco Contractor? Right now I have a 4 year university IT degree, and about 6 years of Networking/PC Technician/Premise Tech experience. I'm currently pursuing my CCNA, and I think eventually I would like to start my own business doing network and voice installs/moves/adds/changes for medium sized businesses in my area. Does anyone on here have a similar business with some advice on how you got started finding customers and getting started in the biz?

What do you mean by a Cisco contractor? Someone who specializes in Cisco? If that is the case, you will need to be at least certified. Do you have any real world help desk experience? It sounds like that is probably where you need to start as although certifications get your foot in the door, real world experience is how you can sell your consulting services. How can you consult if you have no experience...right? I hope that helps provide a little guidance.
