Advice about tv on my computer

I currently have SKY tv (satelite) in a downstairs room but would like to be able to watch and record TV programs on my computer. Could anyone advise me on what equipment I'd need to achieve this? I think I'll need a video card installing and the necessary cables, but is there anything else?

I understand that I can subscribe to SKY plus to get the tv signal in an upstairs room but is there any other way?

Also what is the best software for recording video to my hard drive, and taking vidcaps?

Have a look at ATI's All-In-Wonder products, and also pay a visit to the Hauppage site. It will give a good idea about what's the market these days.
