I'm testing sms 2003 at the moment. When i advertise a manual installation of sp4 for windows 2000 i get my little pop up bubble at the clock advising the user that there is a new advertisment available. It says something like new program available, click here to see etc. When i click on it, it opens the add/remove programs. I guess i should see the advertised program in "add programs from your network" ? Well it don't show up there. But if i go to control panel and openrun advertised programs i see it there instead. I can also run it from there ok.

Whats going on here ? How do i make it advertise properly ?

I'm running sms 2003 on a windows 2000 member server in a 2000 test domain with a couple of windows 2000 pro machines as clients.

Cheers
Craig

Hey Craig,
there is a (global) setting for this.
Check the tab "General" for the "Advertised program Client Agent" - there you can specify this for the Advanced Client.
(New program notification icon opens Add or Remove Programs:
Display advertised programs in Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.)

Hope this helps you ;)

Cheers,
Chris

loo at your Advertise Program Monitor Client Agent...you can select whether or not the advertisement goes into ADD or REMOVE programs OR goes into the normal APM icon.
