Here some background:
I am running SMS 2.0 SP3, in an all Windows 2000 environment. I have created a small package to distribute via SMS. I setup the Advertisement to be Mandatory, and to be executed with in the next fifteen minutes. The Advertisement is assigned on all PCs that are in the collection assigned. But the EXE is never run. If I check the Advertisement status it show that the Advertisement was received but nothing else, no failure or success or even programs started. Time is correct on both the server and workstations.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have deleted and recreated both the Package and the Advertisement numerous times, but it still does not run?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Has this package run previously on these workstations? I have seen this before when someone tried to resend a package where the command line had already been executed before. Look in C:\winnt\ms\sms\clicomp\apa\data\complete on one of the targeted client computers. If there is a filename <package ID>.000 where the package ID matches the package you are trying to advertise, the package will not rerun or change status from anything but received. The solution is to either create a new package (so a new package ID is assigned), or create a new program item for the existing package.

Hope this helps

It seems my SMS server was infected by NIMDA and the share permissions were removed. Once I restored these settings, everything returned to normal.
Thanks for the help!
