advantages & disadvantages of using COM without MTS in a web app.

hi,

can anybody out there help me by exlaining what r the advantages & disadvantages of using COM without MTS in a web app. other than multiple instances? how can the rollback functionality be achieved using only COM & ASP (without MTS)? does application level lock in ASP help in any?
