advantage of views vs tables

I need to find valid articles about using views vs accessing tables directly. Does anyone knows good sites where I could find people who written about this issue.

Oracle documentation should be a good start for u. Once ur fundamentals are strong then you can actualy try out ur own examples like for ex.

1> Have 2 base tables and try to update.
2> Trying to update the key of one of the base tables.
3> Try to insert

etc..

.... nothing will help u like actualy trying out practicaly rather than refering to articles.

I guess I didn't explain my problem. I need to convince a client that using views are better than using tables. This is the reason I asked for good articles.

To try to convince someone that views are better than tables is like trying to convince someone that screwdrivers are better than hammers..
As with all tools, it depends on the job you need to do...

The Oracle docs ( particulary the Concepts and Tuning manuals) will help you decide which to use and when..
