Advanced Verity search

Is it possible in CF 4.5 to create a verity search that will search for author, date last modified, and file size? I need to search files with the extensions of .html, .htm, .doc, .txt, .pdf, .ppt, .rtf, .xls, .mcw , and .wps. I am pretty sure it is possible in CF 5.0. If anyone knows how to do this could you please give me a hint. I know I can figure it out I just need pointed in the right direction. If I type DATE > 3-23-97 in the search string field it will search my documents but I don't know what date it is comparing it to. It's not the created or modified date, and it's not the date in the metatag for .htm files. Any help at all on this will be greatly appreciated.

I have figured out that you can do this in CF4.5. It is not efficient but it works. You first use a cfsearch then us cfdirectory to get the date last modified and file size. If anyone is intersted in the code let me know.
