Advanced UM and Voicemail Synch.

Hi,
We are using Nupoint UM 14.2 as our VM server (mitel 3300) controller.
We have a gateway server with MapiGW service installed to synch between Outlook/exchange 2010.

It works most of the time. Have to restart the AdvancedUM service from time to time but for the most part ok.

I have on user who for the past few weeks cannot synch his VM.

If we put in the SMTP setting he does get the messages but since it isnt advanced UM messages dont get marked as read or deleted.

Everyone else is fine. I have validated the AdvancedUM email/user/password.

I cant actually find any log files on the Mapigw but I am guessing I should be snooping on the server itself. Any thoughts on where to start? Mitel docs doesnt seem to have much in terms of troubleshooting apart from high lever server configuration.

Nupoint software of 14.2 corresponds to Nupoint 4.2. We recently did an upgrade of a customer to Nupoint 5 because of some problems with UM and Exchange 2007. I seem to recall some issues with Exchange 2010 support. Do we know 2010 is fully supported?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
 
The issue may be with an alias as well. I had one where a users email was shortened because no one could spell his last name and we had to use the original email, not the alias.

The user has mulitple exchanges aliases and i tried a few of them. None of them work for UM but they all work in the SMTP field.
I changed his UM setting to be a different Exchange user (actually my test account with my email/user/pass).
Did a test and it didnt work so it seems to be something with the mailbox.

Is there any log files I can see to see what is wrong with that specific mailbox?
 
Oh.. sorry.. .yes.. our version is compatible with Exchange 2010. We have been using it since 2010
 
I've got a bit of experience with Advanced UM on 4.2/14.2 and Exchange. This was in a large environment with 6 Exchange servers in the cluster. One important thing is if they use multiple servers in the Exchange environment, each Exchange server needs its own gateway, so if you have more Exchange servers than gateways, you need to make sure all of your Advanced UM users are on Exchange servers that have a gateway to them.

As far as the log files, you can get to them via the Server Manager interface (browse to "http://[NuPoint IP]/server-manager", log in using the admin account, go to "View Log Files"). Look at "slapd", "qmail/current", and "qpsmtpd/current", one of those should have some useful detail.
