Advanced Alert Suppression - MOM 2005

I am looking to configure alerts in MOM which only fire if a specific event is generated more than x times in y minutes. I do not believe event consolidation allows me to do this, though its a tantilising step in the right direction

Can anyone give me any pointers? or tell me if this is indeed possible within the MOM'05 application.
