i want to setup advance replication using dial-up lines
and how to solve the ip address

pls help

 
Hi Jap,

Could you give us a little more detail on your hardware and operating systems please? It may be that you would be better off starting this thread in an operating system forum but give us some more detail and we'll see what we can do.

Hi Mike,

We have compaq proliant server in each location both of them has windows nt 4.0 operating system and oracle 8.1.6 enterprise edition.

we are using tcp/ip and netbuei protocol and ordinary 56k modem in our dial up.

Sorry for the delay in replying to you.

IP addresses and dial-up.

You can specify a fixed IP address in dial-up networking on the machine doing the dialing. So you need to configure one end to accept dial-up connections and the other to do the dialing. Both ends need to have IP addresses and netmasks that put them on the same network.

Am I on the right track here?

We have to implement replication between two oracle database on different plateform. one is on sun solaris machine and other is on NT. So can u pls tell any issue aur problem which could come in this. :)
