Now this is not of any big importance but i am a bit puzzled about the theoretical and practical speed limits of ADSL. So far i have heard 8mbit download 2 mbit upload, 8mbit download 1 mbit upload and a bunch of other.

But which one is it? Or does it depend on what hardware is used?

I am not sure of the theoretical top speeds of ADSL, my provider offers 384/128 512/128 and 1536/512 one can never get a rate their provider does not offer.

In theory I get 384/128 actuall rate is 320/112 I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

One also has to consider the distance from the CPE to the CO. The farther you are from the CO then the less your maximum bandwidth will be. You probably already knew that, but just thought I'd throw that out there.

Sprint bumps their margians up by 15% to guarantee what you pay for is what you get. We offer top speed of 3meg down 784 up, 1.5 down 384 up, 640 up 640 down, and 512 down and 128k up. “Reserve your right to think, for even to think wrongly is better than not to think at all”
