Hi. We run XPhome on a machine with USB ADSL access, networked to another, XPpro, which has internet access through the xphome machine.

Lately, 2 things have been happening. The XPhome machine has started to really crawl, intermittently, with IE failing, other peices of software really slowing down, like the memory is filling up, though it's not.

The other thing is that the xphome machine seems to have lost internet access, while the other one hasn't. Seems weird. Looks as though the hardware is OK, I suppose, but there's been a softwars glitch, but I can't work out what it is. The home machine has been hung and restarted once or twice, so I suppose some settings may have become corrupt, but I can't work it out.

Help?

I just had a similar bout with my internet provider who kept telling me the problem was with my PC. Yesterday I had a technician at the house and discovered their problem was with windows XP home. They provided me with a static DNS and the problem was cured. A quick fix for you might be to change your connection to the windows xp pro and share to the xp homw computer.
