Hi All,

I am planning to install a Meridian Norstar Compact CCU into my business, I have 4 POTS lines, one of which has ADSL on it.

The question really is, will the exchange still work with that line even tho ADSL is present? Is it worth replacing the NTE5 socket with a combined ADSL/Phone Plate and then connecting into the phone socket on the back?

Best Regards
Chris

What we usually do with DSL on lines is this:
Line comes in from provider to a the telco block.
Take that line and run it threw the DSL splitter.
Run the DSL side to the jack near the modem.
Run the filtered side into the switch's line 1.

That way you only need one DSL filter and it is in the phone closet where it's safe.

I would get a local vendor to do the install, unless you know your way around the Norstar.

I do know my way around a Norstar, have installed several before, but just wasn't sure of the best method when it came to having DSL on one of the lines :)

Cheers
Chris
