Hi!

First let me tell you about what i actually have now and then what i want to accomplish.

I have a ADSL link from my ISP that goes through a Cisco 677i router. My current speed is 2048kbit down and 640kbit upstream. Router has a ethernet port with a crossover CAT5 cable conected to my 10/100 switch. My network is also connected to my neighbours network. He has the exact same ADSL link from same ISP an he also got same router.

What we want to accomplish is this:

We want to Bond/bundle our ADSL Links so we can get 4096kbit down and 1280kbit upstream. I have done some research on this, and i believe its possible with a Llinux box as a gateway with 3 Ethernet cards. One for each ADSL link and one going to our LAN. I am not good with linux, and dont know much about TCP/IP either, but as far as i know this should work in some way.

I just dont know how ?

Any of you out there had some experience with this kind of things, perhaps somebody have a solution for me ?

Thx

Very nice box...but the idea is to make this cheap, i can might as well upgrade my adsl connection to 8 mbit downstream for the same price as this box.

The thing is that me and my neighbour already have a LAN together and both have same Internet connection. Then we thought why not put them together ?

And the idea is to make as cheap as possible!

Thx anyways

Eggis,

You and your neighbour can use only one 677i modem (your or his), upgrade the connection of this modem, and connect both your networks to its Ethernet port via mini-hub.
You don't have to wary for security, and TCP/IP problems.

Ask your ISP whether he supports Multi-VC connections (in order to have virtual separation between you and your neighbour).
If so, the isp will reconfigure your 677i as a router to allow the above.
Ask your ISP for this configuration price, maybe it will suit you.
