What are you trying to do...???
in the thread above (Thread314-431683) I used &H40 to clear the key buffer...

POKE &H1A, PEEK(&H1A + 2)

Are you trying to put keys in the buffer???
If you want to read them... use INP(96) aka IMP(&H60)
