adprep and forestprep

After I forestprep and adprep the 2000 server, how long should/can I wait before dcpromoing the 2003? Can I wait a week, or should it be done within a day or two?

You should wait long enough for the schema changes to replicate to all other domain controllers, if you only have 1 domain controller you dont have to wait at all. Once adprep and forestprep have been run you could wait forever i guess, the schema changes dont expire once they are done they are done. So no real hurry to dcpromo the 2k3 box.

thanks road. i didn't know if there was a time limit on the adprep or forestprep.
