Has anyone used the ADP connection when using Peoplesoft Payroll to ADP?

I have a customer who is not very comfortable in writing several cobol batch processes. Can anyone give me some feed back on your situation either way, by ADP connection or by writing the batch processes. Keep in mind when peoplesoft version 8 comes out, most of the cobol will be N/A, as VB will be replacing most of the cobol processes.

Any inofrmation would be appreciated.

Thank you

Kim Little
Project Manager
New Resources Corporation
Milwaukee, WI

Hi Kim,
I would double check my sources on that whole COBOL replaced by VB idea. Though I personally think that VB is a much better language than COBOL, it is going to be quite sluggish as a batch process. In addition, my associates pointed out that because PeopleSoft is cross platform, VB could never run as a batch process on an IBM mainframe.
I have not done an export to ADP so I cannot give any insight into that issue. If I had to choose between COBOL and SQR, I would choose SQR everytime. I think PeopleSoft's design of the COBOL programs has been somewhat convoluted. I avoid their COBOL whenever possible.

Rekclaw... Thank you for your imput. All my sources are correct, as a past Peoplesoft employee I still manage to get all the inside information. Thanks again.
