We currently have a lot of Access .adp databases pointing to our sql 2005 servers and are able to update our sql tables via Access forms using updateable snapshot and data entry options in forms properties. Working on testing upgrade to sql 2008 server and when data entry option is selected in form, it does not even show any data on form and when data entry option off, it displays but does not let us update data? Has anyone come across this yet? Thanks, Joe

I have not used SQL 2008 but I enjoyed not being able to manage my SQL objects from Access 2003 when I moved to SQL 2005. From that experience I would say it simply should work.

You might try monkeying with refreshing your database connecton. Check out my question and answer... thread958-1186124

Beyond that, scripting SQL objects I saw all the junk that Access 2003 added to the raw objects. You can Script the object, clear out all the 'Access' properties in the script, recreate the object and i would expect it to still work if it did before. It may also force Access to play dumb and just use the object. Another thought, check to see if there is anyway to set the compatiblity of a database to behave like SQL 2005.

Thanks for the info but dumb mistake on my part. I transfered some tables over from sql 2005 to sql 2008 and it didn't transfer the keys. I noticed when I went to test an .accdb and when I linked to 2008 table, it was asking for key columns for link when normal it doesn't if table has key setup. Thanks again, Joe
