Access 2000, using ADP and SQL Server. Others have developed a form with subforms using a 'tab' appearance style. When moving from one form or 'tab' to another data is saved and causing errors because of nulls in primary key field, when I haven't put any data into field but just navigating from form to form or 'tab' to 'tab'.
Please keep in mind that I'm new to Access so the more specific or samples would be tremendous help. Thank you.

This is standard Access behaviour. Access will save a record when you move to a different one. You cannot prevent this behaviour using bound forms, although you can prevent the user from moving to a different form by preventing the current form being saved. Therefore you have to build your application so that it deals with all the required data before you leave each subform.

Thank you for the information. If the user just wants to navigate from form to form without entering any data, they seem to be able to do this EXCEPT for the one form, where it seems to be trying to save the data. I've checked everywhere and cannot see where this is happening. What makes this more confusing is that I have the original mdb app (before it was upsized) and that version is working just fine. So somehow during the upsizing the one subform is behaving very differently.
Any clues or insight ? I'm lost on this. Thanks in advance
