I am trying to get the data from a recordset into an excel spreadsheet, but do not want to use the copyfromrecordset option as I want to put the data in different columns and rows dependant on the data returned.

can anyone suggest the best way to achieve this

if you don't wish to use copyfromrecordset then you need to loop through it manually.

There are plenty of threads with that type of code on these forums. Search for it, and if you then have problems come back to us with your code and specific errors/problems and we will try and help.
