Hi there

I have just heard of the above application - I understand that it creates "pencil" outlines of images.

From the information I have found on the web I cannot ascertain if / how it integrates with Adobe Photoshop.

Can anyone advise ? Also is it like a plug in to Photoshop or a stand alone application ?

Thanks

Hi,
I have not used Streamline in quite a while, but I did use it quite a bit. Basically it is a stand alone applicaton. You import a bitmap (rastered) image (like from Photoshop), and Streamline will attempt to convert that image into vector art by using outlines. Then you can import that completed vectored art into Illustrator (or CorelDraw) to enhance with fills or other effects. Hope that kinda explains it.

Pixelchik,

Does streamline do a decent job of vectorizing images? Is the program easy to use and do you like it?

I might look into getting it.

I found Streamline works best on one color files but you can use it on a 4 color images. Its not a bad program if you have a use for it.
I myself bring my art into my illustrator template and start from scratch. But there were times I used it and it worked well.

Hi SPYDERIX,
I found Streamline to be very helpful in creating vector art from scanned or bitmap images. I had to convert so many images which is why I chose to use Streamline instead of manually creating the line art from scratch in Illustrator. But to make it easier, you should tweek the bitmap image so that the colour areas are distinct from one another to help Streamline distinguish the contrasting areas.
