Adobe opens after printing to PDF -

I'm printing dozens of reports to Adobe PDF (this is a monthly task I have to do). However, each time I print, the printed file opens in Adobe.

I would prefer to say, just print, I don't need to open it now. Is there an option to turn this off?

By opening them all, it slows down my machine, work as I'm cranking through this task.

In windows explorer, if you right click the file and say print, select pdf and then go to preferences, there is an option that says "view pdf results". You will want to make sure that checkbox is deselected.
