I was only given the minimum details on this issue, sorry. But the issue is we have some people in Accounting inserting new and updated pages into a pdf using Adobe Acrobat 7 Standard (plus the latest updates). They said the other day it started doing something strange, when they get to the third page or so Adobe starts dropping certain characters, like w, 3 and 0 fomr the ENTIRE document. It leaves a blank space and even when you print it the blank space is there as well.

Sorry I don't have more details than that but users never give enough anyway. I'm waiting for an email from an IT guy our California office who has seen this before. I've looked online and on Adobe's site but not found anything. I'd like to get an answer for them sooner than it takes the other guy to email back (when ever that will happen). Thanks.

I've never seen this in a document, but had a similar problem with a new printer that was resolved by installing a driver that was PS compliant.

Sometimes this can be caused by using a different kind of the same font, such as postscript vs truetype. It can also be caused by having more than one copy of the font file and drawing from 2 different font files.

Another possibility is that they are not embedding the font, or not embedding enough of it. If the pdf is looking for teh font on the viewer's computer and that font is a little corrupted, etc. the letters or numbers can show as missing. it's always best to embed the font so as to avoid this.
