Adobe Indesign 2 Exporting As Excel

Happy Friday to everyone here.

Abit of a tricky question and i dont know if it can be done but i know that if its possible, someone on here will know.

I need to export a InDesign file to a microsoft excel spreadsheet. Is this possible?

i've searched through google and can only find info on importing an excel document into InDesign but not exporting?

if it isnt possible to export, then is there an easy way to copy the lot into excel

this is on a Mac running OSX, not sure if this will make a difference.

I'm not all too familiar with Microsoft's Office Products, but perhaps you could export your stuff as a Rich Text Format (RTF) and import that into Excel.

You can't insert as ID. You can save as pdf or jpeg and insert that into excel via the Insert menu/picture. If desiered, it can be resized in excel with the handles, like something can be resized in Indesign.

You might have to worry about the pdf insert if sending to a Windows machine. I'm not sure if Windows Excel supports pdf.

This is something I just started looking into, there is a way to export info using xml tags so Excel will recognize it.

First you have to tag the text in CS2. There is a lot of info on this in the Help Menu. Then go to the File Menu and Export as .xml file type. You can open the .xml with Excel.

I'm trying to edit the xml info in Excel and use that to update and ID document. It could automatically change page numbers and prices entered from a spreadsheet. However, there is a lot to learn about this.
