Adobe exchange 3.01

I am trying to open a PDF file in Adobe Exchange 3.01 and i keep getting this error message:

"there was an error processing page. Operation or Data too complex"

I am running OS 8.6, anyone know what might be causing this problem?

Exchange is really buggy with pre-9.0 OS's

You need to remove the 'scanPI', 'ImportPI' and 'OCR' plug-ins from the plug-in folder. There are apparently processing errors caused by these PC ported files.

I actually tried that already and it didn't seem to make a difference. Not all of the PDF files are causing this error...I haven't been able to find the common thread among the ones which do cause this problem.....
