This happens on a particular site and on some clients only. There is a folder which has some adobe documents. When I click on the folder, it prompts me for authentication with my credentials already filled in (Mind you, I am already authenticated). After selecting “OK” numerous times, the prompt goes away and brings me into the folder, but the “Type” field does not display an Adobe icon. The file itself opens without any issues. If the “Type” field is removed from the view, the prompt does not occur.

The strange thing is that it happens on some machines only. The client machines in question do have Adobe reader, I installed Adobe professional as well. But that did not help. Again, this happens for adobe docs and folders with adobe docs.

There are other sites which are on the same ssp, but this does not show up on them. I also saw an article about including the pdf type in the web.config, but all that checks out. So, I am not sure whats wrong.

Please advice.
Thanks.
