Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.1.2 Opening Slow

Adobe Acrobat Reader V 8.1.2 appears to be opening very slow on certain workstations.

I have tried installing updates / re-installing the product but the software still takes approx 30 seconds to open.

Any help appreciated.
