My PDF files open with the Bookmark pane open ALL the time. How can I configure the application so that by default, the bookmark pane is closed and only opened when selected to open.

I've found tweak information via google search but NOTHING I've found/tried has worked.
I sure hope SOMEONE can help me as I have over 6,000 files that always open with the bookmark pane and I DO NOT WANT it open :)
