Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - 'Images Behind an Image'

I'm wondering if the following can be accomplished.

We regularly have PDFs that include images such as graphs. The graphs are usually some type of summary. For example, a graph may show Sales by a particular month.

In an ideal world, I'd love to be able to click on the graph and then have other images display such as 4 graphs showing Sales by that month by week.

Is this something that's possible on a PDF? I know I can do this in Excel and PowerPoint. Since the recipient of the documents wants PDF format, I'd like to be able to include this functionality in the Adobe PDF.

You can create links to other resources within a PDF file.

You can also employ javascript functions.

But PDF is a clumsy format for this. A web application would be easier.
