Adobe Acrobat 7.0 does not recognize Pearson Scanner!

I am absolutely new in Adobe Acrobat...
Currently I am trying to use an option "Create PDF file from scanner"

My Laptop is connected to Pearson Scanner but for some reason when I am trying to select a scanner device in the Create PDF From Scanner dialog box I cannot see anything...

What I am doing wrong? Could you please give me a hand?

Can you see the Scanner in your Control Panel ? Was the scanner powered on when you booted your PC ? Can you scan from other applications that came with the scanner ? If everything is set up correctly, when you tell Acrobat to Create PDF from scanner, it will pop up the control menu that installed with the scanner, which you can get to separately from your Start Menu and Desktop.
