Hi,

I recently installed Adobe 4.0 on my Mac and tested the creation of a PDF through both Pagemaker and Quark.

I have now installed a Hewlett Packard 2550 Postscript3 printer. The sofware appears to have been loaded successfuly however when I try to print, the default is 'Adobe PDF Prinbter' in my Chooser. The Chooser does not seem to recognise the HP 2550 as being connected to my Mac via USB (which it is).

Any advice as to how to over-ride the Adobe default of creating and saving a PDF when you try to print would be very greatfully received and may save me from pulling the rest of my hair out!

Thanks
Phil

Hopefully, the printer was turned on and plugged into the usb port when you loaded the software. That's important. If not reinatall the software - sometimes HP includes an uninstaller to rune first before reinstalling. Also, your printer included the driver for OS 9 or earlier, not just OSX. If so, make sure you installed the right driver.

If you get the printer to show up in the left chooser window, select that to make it you default printer. It's easiest to make a desktop icon for the printer. Then you can control-Click or right click to get a menu that includes default printer.
