Can anyone help? I've created a new table using ADO and I need to add a specified number of records from existing tables.

I can't use the TOP command in SQL as this adds extra records if duplicates are found!

Must use ADO not DAO!

Just a thought
if you make the query on your tables a distinct query you will not get duplicates and so you could use the top values
in an append query

Can't give you code just yet as Ofc is reinstalling - power cut sent m/c screwy

regards

jo

You have created an ADO table, but ADO can be used with dozens of data sources. Is this an Access DB or some other DB? If Access, what version? 2000? The SQL can be slightly different in the different databases.

Can you explain a little more how you are going to relate the records from the other tables. When you say "created a new table through ADO" is this through VBA code? Is this just the definition or did you add data?
