Hi all,

I'm searching for ADO MD (ActiveX Data Objects Multidimensional) in SQL Server.
Though I know it must be available in SQL Server, I didn't find it.

Does someone know where I can find it, or where I can check whether it was installed or not (I read that it's not installed by default)

Another question: Is it possible to get data out of ADO MD to Excel as a report?

Thanks,

Koen

ADO MD is the MultiDimension version OF ADO. it allows applications to query Analysis Services Cubes. If you are using Analysis services you can use Excel PTS to connect to a cube.

This is the first time that I hear from Excel PTS.

Is Excel PTS a feature within Excel? Or is it an extended Excel programme?

Thanks for your information!

Excel Pivot Tables. You can define a Cube as an external datasource and use Pivot Tables to slice and dice a cubes Data.
