I'm working in MS Access 2000, developing an *.adp file with a SQL Server 2000 backend.

As I'm making progress, one thing I've bumped into that has slowed me down on many occasions is that there does not appear to be access to any of the ADO help files in the Visual Basic Editor.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to be able to get my ADO help files loaded?

Thanks!

Have you looked in windows\Help\ado210.chm? (if you are using version 2.5 then the file will be ado250.chm, etc.)

I'm using Access '97 and ADO 2.1 and help won't open the help file since it's html-help. Kyle [pc1]

Thanks Kyle!

That file was located under WINNT/Help on my machine... can I set it up to somehow automatically get called from within the VB Editor?

I honestly don't know how to set that up (my experience with help files isn't what it should be) but you could set up a hot key (I forget exactly how) and just Shell the help file using IE to open it. that should work fairly easily, it's just that it won't open directly to your problem.

Maybe someone else knows how to properly set that up?

I'll mess around with it and let you know if I come across anything. Kyle [pc1]

I have it sitting (the ADO help file) on my desktop. When I wanna know something I open it up. It's a bit of a pain, but I put a shortcut in my quick start menu.
Onwards,
