ADO dataset problem in NT Services.

Dear all,

I need to create an NT service which will keep on checking the availability of any record in a table within a time frame. However, I found out that my NT Service execution is stop whenever it try to open the Ado Dataset. Do you know why is it happen?? Can an NT Service used Ado Dataset to connect to SQL database??

Hi Coffytan,

this is because you must initialize ActiveX, in a normal delphi form application,this is done for you, however in a service/dll/thread you must do this yourself. read these threads :
