Hi All,
I did a set-up for my program at the server machine using the Package and Deployment Wizard(VB6.0) and installed the package to my machine and it can work.(with VB and Access 2000) I did some testing and on one person's machine, the application can work,(without VB and Access 2000) but on the other person's machine, it can't work(withour Vb and Access 2000).

It will appear an error :

"Run-time error '3706' ADO could not find the specified provider"

The server machine in which I did the setup has Microsoft Access 2000.

Any help will be appreciated.
Thankz...!

Looks like you will need to update your ODBC.
Microsoft have the updated package. If you want to leave your email address then I will send it to you. Or you can search around for it on Microsoft's site.

Thankz HebieBug....!
My e-mail address is pluto_pluto82@hotmail.com

Sorry for troubling you.....
Thankz again!!

Hi HebieBug,
May I know where the ODBC package has to be installed at?
Is it at the Server?
Or is it at the machines that has the error message
of "ADO could not find the specified provider?

Thanks for your help.

you instal it on the problem computer. Am having a few problems with my laptop at the moment but will send it to you when I get it working

Thank you.......

Do you have another email account. The exe is over 5mb.
It's called "mdac_typ.exe"

I'm sorry Hebie Bug,I do not have another e-mail account that has a over 5mb of attachment space......
=)
Nvm , since you have already provide me with the name of the file, I guess that I can find it myself using the microsoft website....
Thanks for your help anyway....
=)

Best to put this as a new thread
Was working on the problem about a year ago and could not find a solution for it.
If you are determined to find the answer you might start with adding a user name and a password. From memory the security on Access requires both.
Also if you do find the answer when you deploy it you will need to face all your users machine to the MDW file. You can do thi with the WRKGADM.EXE
Would be interested in the answer when you find it.
