ADO and linked tables in Access 97

I am looking for documentation concerning using ADO to get to a linked table in Accces. The database has tables that are linked to SQL Server 7.0. I can read and write to both the SQL Server database and the Access database, I only get a database error only when I try to work with the linked table. I have found some documentation on accessing linked tables from SQL server to Access but not from Access to any other source.

Any help would be much appreciated.
