ADMT use? Anyone know the step by step?

Hello all..

Next week I'm going to do a migration from a Windows NT PDC to a Windows 2000 DC server. Actually there is 1 PDC (and 1 BDC) in one domain and another PDC/BDC in another domain... Both domains are being UPGRADED to WINDOWS 2000 server (so there will be 2 Win2k servers in one domain and 2 more in another domain).. Now, my question is.. has anyone is the tech group ever use the ADMT tool to migrate users/groups from a source to a target? Is it effective? Are there many kinks and snags or is this kind of viable? Anyone care to let me know it would be most appreciated.. Thanks a lot!

The ADMT utility works, but you have to understand its limitations. You also have to have things setup correctly before you use the utility. I would suggest going to Microsofts Knowledge Base and search for "ADMT". There is an article that tells you how and what you need to setup before you use the utility. One other suggestion would be to test this in a lab situation before trying it on your live network.
