ADMT and Exchange 5.5 service accounts

We are testing the ADMT 2.0 migration in our lab and have been able to meet every objective but one: Exchange 5.5 SP4.

Currently, we don't have plans to upgrade Exchange to 2000 until after the migration from NT4 to a new AD domain is a success. After running the ADMT, the Exchange service accounts don't migrate and we loose the ability to administer the Exchange server. We also loose Exchange functionality when we break the two-way trust between AD and NT4.

How do I migrate the Exchange 5.5 service accounts so the the server works in our AD domain?

I believe the problem is that your 2000 domain is not Exchange aware. Do a dummy install of Exchange on your 2000 box (you will need to start the box as NT4 to do this, then upgrade). That should put in all the schema changes you need for Exchange to be able to work.

Another option would be to do an inplace upgrade of your domain. That way you are not dealing with the trusts and multiple domain issues.
