Hi !
I'm trying to make websphere run on a 2.8 solaris server, but I won't, although I managed to do the same on a Windows NT PC.

When I try to run adminserver.sh, I get :
FATAL could not load database driver java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:jdbc.idbDriver
and many error lines after it.

I looked for the file db2java.zip I had under Windows, but couldn't find it.

I don't need no database for the web applications I want to run, so I'm not happy to have problems with JDBC...
Do I have to use createdb2.sh ? I tried to but I haven't installed DB2 so it wouldn't work.

I have been looking for a solution without finding for a while now, so any help will be welcome !

Thanks,
Gaelle.

WebSphere uses a database to hold its configuration info. I believe that 3.5.x provided what it called "instant DB" which is a 'light' version of DB2. Or you may have DB2 on your install disks.

Either way - you do need a DB to run WebSphere. Even if you don't need a DB for your Web Application.

Hope this helps, Einstein47
