Administrator Mailbox Password

My administrator's DEFAULT password is not working. I have done the following:
(Task-to get into the system to add/delete mailboxes)
1. Feature code 981
2. System asks me to provide "log"
3. I enter the log numbers that I use on a normal basis. (it worked recently)
4. I hit "ok"
5. Display window shows "Invalid password" I can't get past this step.

Since the password I'm using is the DEFAULT I can not figure out how to "reset" this password unless I do a hardboot by unplugging the system. And I'm not sure that if I do this it will work. Help Please.

Our systems is a Norstar (Nortel) Voice Mail 4.0
