Hello all,

The database I use requires that all clients must be allowed admin privileges whether they are on 2000, XP or Vista PRO.

This opens up the can of worms that was originally intended to be out of bounds to users.

Is there a setting that can toggle the users in admin mode as the application is launched and back to user mode when exiting?

Use the XP 'run as' feature. Create a desktop icon for the application - then right click>propertied>advanced>use different credentials

Is there any way you can find an alternative Database program that doesn't have such a gaping Security problem?

For XP and 2000 you can look at Greg Palmer's special program or as previously suggested, the RunAs command.

Have a look at Greg PALMER's free program, see if you can make use of that?

"To start a program as an administrator" in the Help and Support program.

In Vista you are going to have the UAC instead of the RunAs command.

Thank you both, Stduc and Linney...

I use Alpha Software... its power puts all others in the stone age and that I cannot ignore.

Your input is greatly appreciated!

Thank you
