On a test Windows 2003 Server, I've installed Exchange 2003 under the Administrator account. If I login with my username I am unable to open the System Manager and also unable to administrate users in AD Users and Comps. I am, however, able to administrate everything from my local system (Windows XP) where I have installed the adminpak and Exchange 2003 Administration (from the Exchange 2003 CD). I have delegated myself as a Full Administrator under the System Manager and I am part of every group on the box (including the Administrators group which is what MS recommends). I have also delegated myself with Full Control to everything under the Delegation of Control Wizard.

The error message reads:

Access is Denied.
Facility: Win32
ID no: c0070005
Exchange System Manager

If this questions has already been addressed, please let me know. Thanks!

did you ever find out what the problem was? I have just upgraded to EXCHNAGE 2003 and I am unable to change the location of the message tracking logs. Thanks.

no...I still login as the domain administrator on the Win2k3 box to do administration of Exchange/AD.
