I'm pretty new to the Octel system. How do you set it up to where you can administer the Octel switch via a dial up connection?? Can you use Hyperterminal?? What settings do you have to set Hyperterminal to (8-N-1 or ?-?-?, 57600 or ???. etc)??

you can use it but you need to change the emmulation type in menu 6-3 for the service port to vt200 most of us use procomm as it emmulates a wyse 50 terminal. The modem that you use should be set for 8 n 1 9600 baud only and no flow control.

Ken,Thanks for the response. I was able to get into the Octel via dial in yesterday. I set up Hyperterminal for TTY. I got a few unusual characters at the end of a line waiting for a response, but other than that, the menu came up without any problems. I'll go in and check menu 6-3 and see what it's set for.
Thanks
