Hi there.

In my work, I saw a 1408 phone with a button marked "Admin" that allowed access to make changes to features such as system speed dial.

I cannot make it come up on any of my test phones. i have changed the priority, system phones rights, profile, but nothing seems to make it appear.

How do you get that soft button to become available?

Regards.

Maybe you could try to program the button as "self administer" in button programming > miscelanous > self administer
It won't allow the user to change the systems directory, that is controlled by the system phone rights
priority and profile has no influence on the ability to program anything in the system.
Maybe you could start to read the whole phone admin manuals and phone user guides, if you had done so before you wouldn't have to ask the above......

intrigant.

I did read the manuals.

Now that I have found out where it hides, I'll share.

First, the System Administration only occurs on the first two DS in the system.
Set the priority to 5 (Best) and the System Phone rights to Level 2.
Set the user type to Power User.
Under Phone Manager Options, Phone Manager type, select Pro.

On the phone itself, you will have to go to the Menu that says System Administration, by pressing Feature, Phone user, System Administration, and then the menu under there.

I still haven't found the system speed dial menu I want, but I will.

Just give the user a "System phone right" Leve 2, then press the CONTACTS BUTTON on the user and you get an extra option. The admin button will only work for date/time/reboot ipo/shutdown card ect...

Thanks Bas1234.

That was what I was looking for; however the other information being available is rather cool too!

Regards

You must have read the wrong manuals though, it is documented like that i am sure as I just finished translating the docs to understandable dutch, something I would expect the reseller shoud provide.... hint to Bas1234.... hehe[wink]

Try to translate "Buurvrouw wat een mooie koolmezen, maar wat doet mijn haan op uw ezel" from dutch to english.
