Admin account locked out after rebuilding domain

I had a client that had his server crash. I rebuilt it and recreated the domain. One of his client machines would not join the domain. He then made it join a workgroup and on reboot he gets a message that his account is locked out. We can't get in to do anything to adjust it.

Does anyone know what is wrong, or why? Should I just try a password cracking program and change the admin password and try to get in that way?

Check in policies to see if there is a lockout for repeated unsuccessful login attempts. If so this is usually for a short time period.

When you say admin...do you mean the Administrator on the work station? If so, did you try to just login to the work station as Administrator (with the local password...since that did not crash) GlennA
