Hi All,

Is there a way to administer the softkeys on say a 9608 without using a 46xxsettings.txt? I have 2 sites where I'm not using an HTTP server yet, however the vendor that set them up somehow administered the softkeys. One of the vendors couldn't remember and the other is in China, so I might have some trouble getting a hold of them.

This has to be possible, right?!?!?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Only way it via settings file that im aware of

what version are you at? an http server can be setup easily on your laptop, and from there you can push a new settings file. the only way to play with the softkeys is in the settings file.

I wonder if that is what the vendor did when they installed the system. I was thinking that maybe they used the S8300 as the HTTP server since there's only 32 phones, but there's nothing in the DHCP scope for an HTTP server.

The CM is R5.2 and the 9608s are 6.2009

Thanks!

@bostong3. I would talk to your vendor. Without an http server, you are also not able to updgrade the software on the 9608 (which is running 6.2.0 and Avaya is up to 6.2.3).

have you checked the networkvsettings on the phones they may be misleading you and have the http server manually inputted
