HI.

I'm supporting a network with the following:
NT 4 (SP6a) server with the ADLM that come with ACAD R14, and 6 client licenses.
Win98 clients with ACADR14 localy installed in drive C, no hardware plug, using the network server for license.
All computers are in a small LAN running the TCP/IP protocol.

We have purchased 6 upgrade licenses from R14 to ACAD2002 network "floating" license.

I want to:
* Install ACAD2002 on a test computer to learn and test the product.
* Install the new license manager on the NT server, to get the needed numbers for the activation proccess.
* Let current ACAD R14 users keep working at the moment.
* Install ACAD2002 beside R14 on client computers so they can use both for a while.

Now my major question is:
What will happen when I install the new ADLM on the server?
Will the old ADLM continue to work and provide licenses to R14 clients?
Will the new ADLM work beside it? Or will it overwrite and disable the old one?
If the old ADLM will stop working, then does it mean that current R14 clients will no longer function?
Must I do the whole upgrade at once?

Thanks

Not a problem, but as your license is NLM, you will have to install it as a NLM copy.

Again not a problem. However AutoCAD 2002 uses FlexLM license manager, not ADLM, so you will have to install that first, and get licenses for that.

ADLM & FlexLM will run together, so you have no problem here.

See above.

Yes

Yes and no in that order.

N/A

No
