Adjunct equipments besides Cisco switches

I have 1 equipment particularly has a layer 2 capability and have 2 ports for connection redundancy.

I will be plugging it on 2 different switches (with Spanning tree enabled with connection to each other)

What is the ideal configuration of a Cisco Catalyst switch if we are plugging another adjunct or any equipments with Layer 2 capability?
