I am trying to create a large number of users within my AD infrastructure. I have used LDIFDE to successfully create one or two users at a time, but the text file created is too large to be properly usable.
I have found the addusers facility on the resourse kit and it creates a large number of accounts very easily. So far so good.
The problem I'm having is that my new accounts get created in the default 'users' section of my AD tree. I want to know how I can create these users within my AD OU.
Any help/solutions much appreciated.

I tried to crack this a long time ago with the same problem usig the CSVDE utility. However the csv files were just too complicated and eventually I have reverted to using a mixture of adduser, xcacls and net share. Basically all the util that you used in NT4 and then manually moved users. Seems a bit backwards but how long do you spend on these things. I can let you have batch files etc if interested.

We are also using AddUsers, and we haven't found a way to automatically move them. Once they go in the general "Users" area, we manually move them to the correct OU. Since you can select them as a batch, it isn't so bad. Also this gives you a chance to make sure it went correctly before they get mixed with all your previously created users.

Thanks a lot for your input.
I think I must be going mad because when I create new user accounts using the addusers facility, no home directories are created automatically!!!!!
I've a feeling it's a bug in the program, because when I then check the home drive information on the accounts and click apply, hey presto I suddenly get a home folder in the correct location...?!!
I can supply the text file if neccessary.
Any one else used addusers.exe before?

Thanks in advance.
